Il Mulino New York has an eight-page menu of fine wines available, many of them, unsurprisingly, pinot grigios, chardonnays, chiantis and cabernet sauvignons from Italian vineyards in Piedmont and Tuscany. A short list of American wines produced in Napa Valley includes Opus One, Magnificat and Profile. Order from the private cellar list or the large bottle reserve list, the latter of which has wine and champagne options, and if you’re still hungry after your Italian feast, Il Mulino New York offers plenty of dessert wines to pair with its tiramisu and other classic Italian sweets.
Our Forbes Travel Guide editors recently enjoyed a glass of house chianti and a glass of prosecco with dinner, but the wine list at the Forbes Travel Guide Recommended restaurant also includes a number of other wines by the glass covering all regions of Italy. Vineyards represented on the by-the-glass menu include Gaja, Antinori and Tenuta San Guido, while the restaurant’s signature wine by the glass is Le Difese, a cabernet from Tuscany.
