Diplomats, business travelers and a few guests from the Rachael Ray Show (the show's official hotel) all find something to like about this Midtown East hotel located next to the United Nations. Plenty of meeting and banquet space is available, including a fitness center, pool and even indoor tennis courts. The rooms are sparsely decorated and have a calm, neutral palette, allowing the sweeping views of the U.N. and the rest of the city to take center stage instead. Unbothered by looming skyscraper neighbors (guest rooms start on the 28th floor), the hotel has some of the best panoramic views of the city—making the rooms feel more like private penthouses than part of a hotel. The only con here: The property is pretty far east, so you'll have to walk several avenues over to catch the subway at Grand Central Station.
