The food presentation at The River Grill Restaurant at Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa will tell you immediately that the chef is an artistic fellow. Even when confronted with a simple pumpkin soup that seemingly offers no outlet for creativity, you’ll find a pumpkin crisp floating in the center of the bowl with a decorative pile of flavorful bacon stowing away on top. But surely the salad must stump him, right? Of course not. Our beet and arugula salad at this recommended restaurant was so stylish it practically begged to be framed, as triangular slices of red and yellow beets shared space with a stripe of dressing, a dot of goat cheese, a pile of arugula and a decorative sprinkle of black salt.
