Forbes Travel Guide, originator of the prestigious Forbes Star rating and certification program, has provided the most comprehensive ratings and reviews of hotels, restaurants and spas in the United States and Canada for over fifty years. Forbes Travel Guide was created in 1958 following the introduction of the United States interstate highway system to encourage people get in their car and explore the country.
Since then, Forbes Travel Guide has offered consumers unbiased, objective content to help them make informed decisions when traveling.
In 2008, Forbes Travel Guide launched the international star ratings program for hotels and spas with the release of the inaugural Forbes Travel Guide Beijing and Forbes Travel Guide Hong Kong Macau.
