All rooms at Tradewinds Carmel in Carmel-by-the-Sea have scenic views of some sort, either of the tropically landscaped grounds or the water. However, the upper rooms that face west are best if you want to go to wake up with vistas of the Pacific Ocean. When we spoke to a front desk agent on a recent visit to this Forbes Travel Guide Recommended hotel, she shared that rooms six, seven and eight have gorgeous views of the turquoise-blue water that the Central Coast is famous for. But even if you’re not in one of those rooms, you won’t be gazing at a parking lot. The lovely courtyard of the luxury hotel is filled with ferns, sago palms, papyrus, banana trees and flowering maples, as well as rocky fountains and representations of Buddha, so there’s something pretty wherever you look at Tradewinds Carmel.
