Located around the Arabian sea, Mumbai has the potential to have some stunning views. Surprisingly, locating a great view over the bay or city isn't as easy as you would expect.
The most iconic view of Mumbai has to be the Queen's Necklace, more formally known as Marine Parade. This promenade stretches from Walkeshwar to Nariman Point in South Mumbai and can be seen on foot, from a boat off the harbour or at night from one of the rooftops of the hotels that line Marine Parade. One of the best places to view Marine Parade is Dome Bar at the Intercontinental Hotel.
For a beautiful sunset view over the Arabian Sea, and to explore an interesting park, head to the Hanging Gardens at Malabar Hill. These terraced gardens are perched at the top of the hill, providing lovely views over the city and some interesting gardens with delicately sculptured hedges.
To view what the locals do on an afternoon, your best vantage points are either Chowpatty or Juhu beach, where you can enjoy the view and carnival atmosphere at ground level. If you want to relax in style over a drink whilst soaking in the atmosphere, then head to the terrace at the Novotel Juhu for sundowners.
Later at night head to Aer Bar at the Four Seasons Hotel, where you can enjoy the view over the city from all directions on the 34th floor. This is Mumbai's highest rooftop bar, located in the central suburb of Worli it is a relaxing place to sit back and enjoy the view of the bustling town below.
