The “27” in the name refers to the number of Latin American
countries, but it also reflects this stylish restaurant’s culinary
diversity. In a large, dramatic space, Nacional 27 offers
Nuevo Latino dishes that blend flavors and influences from
throughout Central and South America. Starters include
ceviche sampling platters with shrimp, scallops, ahi tuna
and cold-smoked Tasmanian salmon. The menu also offers
tapas (such as miniature lamb tacos with avocado salsa and
smoked chicken empanadas), a five-course tasting menu,
and à la carte dishes including a delicious grilled marinated
skirt steak. If the food itself doesn’t get you dancing, the
restaurant’s resident DJ will get you on the floor with weekend
salsa and merengue music. (Have a spiked apple cider to
best bring out your dance moves.)
