What’s the best time to visit Jared Coffin House?

Jared Coffin House is unique on Nantucket in that it stays open year-round — or at least, a portion of it does. Daniel Webster House, the building next door that houses 12 of Jared Coffin House’s guest rooms, is available for booking all year. The main Jared Coffin House building, on the other hand, stays open between early April and the end of October. While summer is high season on the island — with miles of beaches and months of events like the Nantucket Film Festival and Comedy Festival — early fall brings temperatures in the 70s, along with other draws. The Cranberry Festival in October is one of them. Go then to experience a true New England autumn, cranberry harvesting and all. June is another prime time to visit the Nantucket hotel; you’ll beat the thickest crowds but will still benefit from summer hours and plenty of sun.
