The scene at Brant Point Grill varies depending on the time of day and the season (it’s open between mid-April and December), but it’s generally a lively place. Between the restaurant’s great location overlooking Nantucket Harbor and its convenient proximity to downtown, who wouldn’t want to head here to enjoy a gourmet meal or while away a few hours (over a few of chef Fred Bisaillon’s creative cocktails)? Brant Point Grill provides plenty of excuses to do so — besides the excellent steak and seafood, of course.

On summer Fridays and Saturdays, local band Bob Lehman Trio plays in Brant Point Grill’s bar from 8 to 10:30 p.m. It has been the house band for more than a decade. The bar also hosts Friday Buck-A-Shuck — $1 oysters from 3 to 9 p.m. on the lawn — and draws guests on Mondays with Wagyu beef and lobster tacos from 3 to 9 p.m.

Sunday brunch is another busy time, and a favorite with families, at the Nantucket restaurant. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., you’ll find waffle, pancake, omelet and carving stations; a create-your-own Bloody Mary bar; and a kids corner with bites such as chicken fingers and pizza. The cherry on top? An old-fashioned ice cream cart.
