You can expect to receive a special gift or two compliments of executive chef Christopher Kostow when you dine at The Restaurant at Meadowood. It’ll most likely be a light amuse-bouche, but we can’t tell you what exactly your gift will be since chef Kostow’s culinary whims — and, accordingly, his two tasting menus — change along with the season. Since this Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star restaurant maintains its own massive garden on the grounds of the 250-acre Meadowood Napa Valley estate, you can expect that whatever you’re tasting was made with ingredients freshly sourced not too far from where you’re seated. On our most recent visit, for example, we were treated to bites of ripe heirloom tomatoes and chanterelle mushrooms.
