Bayona doesn’t offer many special views, since the villa’s dark green shutters close off the windows and shut out any French Quarter street traffic noise. But the enclosed patio does offer a romantic environment for a tête-à-tête, with a backdrop of banana trees and tropical foliage clinging to the brick wall. If you’re sitting near the back of the restaurant sipping a cocktail, you’ll be able to enjoy those same sights — though from the adjacent air-conditioned room. And although it’s not exactly a view, per se, if you’re seated in the intimate Dyer room, you’ll be able to gaze at artist Joel Dyer’s trompe l’oeil painting of the Mediterranean countryside.
