Pastry chef Kerri Dean crafts the dessert menu at Bayona, and as with Susan Spicer’s cuisine, her range of sweets is inspired by flavors from around the world. When we visited, the dessert menu included a chocolate caramel hazelnut tart with Earl Grey ice cream and strawberries, mango cheesecake flan with a pistachio crust and blackberries, glazed carrot cake with rum raisin sauce and pineapple cream cheese ice cream, and chocolate-bourbon panna cotta with raspberries and mint coulis. Should you want something on the lighter side, you can select the daily flavor of ice cream or sorbet. But in a city renowned for indulgent desserts, why not go for something rich and decadent?
