With 185 luxury rooms, Gramercy Park Hotel is different from many other New York City hotels because of its appreciation for the arts, eclectic décor and its much-coveted access to the park. Once you enter the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star property through the revolving glass doors, you’ll immediately notice the high ceilings, wooden beams and rich, bold colors of red and green velvet found throughout the lobby. On the walls and flowing over into the Rose Bar are pieces of art from famous artists such as Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst and Fernando Botero. Even with the visual majesty, however, we have to admit that gaining access to exclusive Gramercy Park is one of the main reasons this boutique hotel is so unique. As it stands now, the only people who can enjoy the park — you need a key to both enter and exit — are those who live in buildings that overlook the green space. Luckily, the hotel is one of those few privileged structures.
