As a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel in Manhattan, you can expect to pay top dollar for a room at Hôtel Plaza Athénée New York. Of course, you can also expect the average price of a room to vary based on the time of year and day of the week. After undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation in 2010, the Upper East Side hotel’s 142 guest rooms are better than ever.
The Classic Room, which is Hôtel Plaza Athénée’s most standard guest room, runs between $495 and $695. These cozy rooms have interior views and are located on floors two through four. A step above the Classic Room is the Superior Room, which dons updated décor and runs between $595 and $745 a night. The Deluxe Rooms overlook the residential streets of the Upper East Side and cost anywhere between $695 and $825. The largest of the basic rooms is the Grand Deluxe at 450 square feet — spacious for Manhattan — and will set you back between $795 and $925 per night.
The suites at the Four-Star hotel are a good step up from standard rooms. All were revamped in 2010 and feature updated interiors with contemporary décor. You can expect to pay anywhere from $1,190 for a Classic Suite to $2,300 for a Premier Balcony Suite. The hotel’s bigger suites tend to stay at a fixed rate. The Manhattan Terrace and Plaza Athénée Balcony suites cost $4,935 per night. If you want to book one of the premier suites (Presidential, Thai or Penthouse), you’ll have to shell out as much as $8,900.
