What is the design style of The Chatwal Hotel?

Designed by master architect and acclaimed interior designer Thierry Despont, The Chatwal Hotel is a beautiful combination of old and new. The Empire Art Deco style is definitely obvious, but it’s not too over the top. Guest rooms don three different color schemes: burgundy and light ochre; blue and light gray; and bright yellow and light brown. But what’s really appealing about the rooms (aside from them being spacious) is the built-in cabinets that are wrapped in faux leather to look like classic luggage. You’ll see these Art Deco nods throughout the hotel, from the bright red banquettes in the signature eatery, The Lambs Club, to the lobby’s reception desks that don chrome metal fins.
