After sampling the bread and butter service at Del Posto, you might experience some serious cravings. From the moment the server places the silver basket of Italian housemade breads on the table and presents the condiments, you know you’re in for a treat. We thoroughly enjoyed the flaky and flavorful savory focaccia with olive oil, rosemary and thyme and found that it was delicious without any spreads. The mini baguette, multigrain with pine nuts and a black olive ciabatta were excellent as well, and simply divine when topped with a dollop of the silky sweet cream butter. However, the real star of the service was the indulgent and delicious lardo provided alongside the butter. Lardo, made of cured pork fat and laced with rosemary and garlic, might sound a bit rich for you, but once you try it, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without the complex flavors of the salty, herbal and meaty condiment. Suffice it to say, the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star restaurant doesn’t overlook its bread service.
