As fun as it is to walk around NYC, on rainy or cold days, it’s nice to find a place to hover in for warmth. Luckily, as much as the city has to offer outside, it has even more fun to offer indoors.
Some of my favorite places to spend inside:
The Metropolitan Museum of Art can consume an entire day, easily. Between their permanent installations, galleries, and temporary exhibits, all which never fail to be stunning, one can get lost in time with each visit. Visiting The Met store, even if only to browse, is a favorite pastime all on its own. The Petrie Court Café serves European-style lunch and afternoon tea. Its grand glass window brings the views of Central Park in, but leaves any harsh weather out.
An evening at Lincoln Center, whether it be taking in a theatrical performance, the ballet, or the opera, is a true NYC experience no matter the season. Once you walk past the iconic Revson Fountain (and maybe pose for a picture or two), the beauty of the various stages in this performing arts center is one not to be missed.
