As Michael Mina’s culinary homage to San Francisco, Nobhill is one of the great contemporary American restaurants on the Strip. Many ingredients on the menu are sourced from the Bay Area and all over the country, including poultry and organic produce. Nobhill Tavern offers Mina’s “trio concept,” which offers guests the choice of proteins prepared in three different and unique ways. Ingredient selections include shellfish, poultry, greens, American Kobe beef, finfish and caviar. Try one of Mina’s specialties, like the North Beach cioppino with steamed shellfish, tomato broth and basil oil. Other offerings, such as organic fried whole chicken for two served with truffled macaroni and cheese, recall the meals Mom used to make each night. Finish with desserts such as a blackberry custard or apple cobbler with brown-sugar ice cream. The restaurant’s design takes its cues from the best Bay City spots, complete with dark wood accents, intimate booths and a soothing, earthy color palette.
