Japanese cuisine is traditionally elegant, precise and simple, and the food served at Okada at Wynn Las Vegas falls in line with those aesthetics. The dining room has an excellent flow to it (if you’re thinking feng shui), and is accented by blond woods and natural stone, with a giant window offering a view of the waterfall just outside. Sushi is the main attraction, with expert sushi chefs behind the bar preparing some of the freshest raw fish available in Las Vegas. Teppanyaki-style cooking is also a good bet, but don’t expect these chefs to theatrically clang their knives against the grill—this is a much more reserved forum, ideal for group dinners. Popular dishes include selections from the robatayaki, or traditional Japanese barbecue, wherein skewers are grilled over live coals, which adds a wonderful smoky flavor to the subtle marinades.
