A vacation in Hawaii wouldn’t be complete without a luau. Although luaus abound here, this one has received many accolades as the best luau on Maui. Located on the north side of Lahaina, its oceanfront setting takes full advantage of the wonderful sunsets over the sea and views of the island of Lanai. The stage is on the beach, and the seating is traditional Hawaiian: in a semicircle, stagefront low tables with cushions backed by regular tables. Before dinner, guests can watch the kalua pua’a (roasted pig) as it is unearthed from the imu (underground oven). Dinner itself is served buffet-style in thatched huts, called hales. Leis are provided to guests on arrival, and the evening is capped off by traditional Hawaiian music and entertainment.
