Once, long ago, they say a sea captain lived in every house in Old Lyme. Fortunately, a good many of the houses are still standing on the tree-lined streets of this sleepy old village. Named for Lyme Regis, England, it is a summer resort and an artists' colony, one of the first on the coast.
