Executive chef Christophe Émé may be better known as the husband of sultry blond actress Jeri Ryan, but gourmands know him from his years at L’Orangerie. His wife’s sex appeal may have rubbed off on the couple’s restaurant Ortolan, with its cream-colored tufted banquettes, cozy fireplace and a bevy of sparkling chandeliers, but it’s Émé’s haute cuisine (along with stellar service) that keeps patrons coming back for more. Named after a rare bird historically eaten as a delicacy in the south of France, Ortolan offers tempting à la carte options such as scrambled eggs with caviar and two prix fixe menus—appropriately dubbed Seduction and Plaisir, which is French for “pleasure.” Sexy indeed.
