Vegas bigwigs love The Palm. It has that classic steakhouse vibe and a staff that remembers your name (or at least the names of those who come in more than once a year—they’re waiters, not clairvoyants). But you don’t have to be a bigwig or a regular to enjoy a meal here. There are no frills, no fancy presentations, just honest-to-goodness solid steakhouse fare, as well as some traditional Italian-American dishes, staying true to the original New York City concept. The veal scallopini with Milanese, piccata or Marsala sauce is one of the best Italian dishes you’ll find in Nevada (though competition drops off once you leave the Strip). If you’re more inclined for a steak, you’re in good company. The 26-ounce prime rib is fantastic; smaller appetites are well sated with the 9-ounce filet mignon. And since you were always taught to eat your vegetables, a side of creamed spinach balances out the meal. Even if you’re not part of the high-roller crowd, you can eat like you are.
