Park Avenue Café reinvented itself in 2007 into another restaurant—actually, into four other restaurants. The venue is now Park Avenue Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn, depending on the season, and the focus, of course, is on seasonal ingredients. In winter, for example, nosh on expertly done organic salmon with parsnip puree or grilled veal chops, and a few weeks later, sample dishes like roasted leg of lamb or peekytoe crabcake from the spring menu. The seasons motif goes beyond the rotating menu, too: Every three months or so, the restaurant’s entire décor shifts to reflect the mood of what’s just outside the windows. Talk about fresh.
