The cavernous Financial District isn’t exactly the height of
chic, but Le Méridien tries to add a dash of style to this bigbusiness
neighborhood. The former Park Hyatt has received
a continental facelift, including streamlined rooms with
contemporary furniture and décor in shades of taupe, red
and brown. (Many rooms have balconies that offer views of
the city or the Bay, so make your requests accordingly.) The
classic décor at the Park Grill won’t blow you away, so dine
alfresco on the plant-filled terrace instead. Is this the hippest
or most luxurious stay in town? No, but for a comfy room
that’s a little nicer than your average megachain, as well
as a quick commute to your morning meeting, it does the
trick nicely.
