There are those who still mourn the late, great neighborhood vibe of Patina in its former life on Melrose Avenue. But while it’s got fancy new digs at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the haute cuisine here is still exquisite. So go ahead and let the detractors complain—that just means you’ll have more room to admire the undulating interior walls and seamless service. You can’t go wrong with executive chef Theo Schoenegger’s daily or seasonal tasting menus, and don’t pass up the cheese cart, which will nearly steal the spotlight—the salty Chabichou du Poitou is a star. Add to that a show at the Frank Gehry-designed concert venue, and your evening couldn’t be more magical than if, well, you were a 6-year-old at Disneyland.
