While Portland Harbor Hotel was built in 2002, it incorporates a classic but distinctive design style that makes it look as though it’s been a part of Old Port’s cobblestoned framework for a hundred years. The brick look on the exterior and the columned entrance make for an elegant appearance that carries over into the interior design. With dark wood, leather chairs and a stone fireplace, the lobby is inviting and comfortable. All rooms feature hardwood floors, a custom pillow-top mattress and a granite-appointed bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower and soaking tub. The boutique hotel’s restaurant, Eve’s at the Garden, maintains that style and is open to the lobby, making for an open and convivial atmosphere. The refinement continues in the lovely courtyard, with its gardens, fountain and brickwork.
