Located in St. Mark’s Square at the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian, Postrio is a perfect spot to enjoy a casually elegant meal, with some priceless people-watching to boot. The interior of the restaurant is subtle, with intimate booths around the floor and deep red décor. Sitting on the faux patio (you’re still inside a mall) allows you to watch not only passers-by, but also the entertainment (in the way of jugglers, singers and musicians) that roams around the plaza. Postrio is Wolfgang Puck’s blend of American and Mediterranean cuisine, so expect plenty of fresh flavors and ingredients prepared in unexpected ways. The patio features a slightly different, more casual menu than the main dining room, and includes pizzas, small plates and sandwiches. (Try the lobster club sandwich; it’s one of the best on the Strip.) The dining room menu offers slightly more upscale fare, such as the oven-roasted turbot with baby mussels, saffron-orange oil and a fall leek purée. Both menus showcase Puck’s attention to detail. Regardless of where you choose to sit, no meal is complete without Puck’s famous 13-layer tiramisu with coffee anglaise and chocolate sorbet.
