From its plush brown and blue décor to the contemporary art hanging on the walls, the room sings decadence. The menu offers standard steakhouse dishes, but it’s the detailed presentation that sets it apart from other steak places. Vongerichten is known for the Asian influences and flavors in his dishes, and he continues this theme in dishes such as veal chop with kumquat-pineapple chutney, or crab spring rolls with a tart tamarind sauce. The wine list is impressive, featuring the best of the big reds of California. If you forgot to secure a reservation weeks in advance, try your luck on the outdoor terrace, where you can sample tasty appetizers and desserts without calling ahead.Prime offers a selection of appetizers and main courses that are not necessarily ‘standard steakhouse’ fare.
