After nearly 12 years inside the Charles Hotel, Rialto got a makeover, reopening in
2007 as a posh, more-polished version of itself with plantation shutters and crisp
white table linens. As always, chef Jody Adams shines in the kitchen, letting her
Italian cuisine take center stage. A few of her signature dishes (grilled Wolfe’s Neck
sirloin and slow-roasted Long Island duck breast, to name a few) can’t be taken off
the menu because they’re so popular. Instead, she’s added a handful of modern
Italian specialties like gnocchi with rabbit bolognese and spaghetti with lobster. The
wine list is easy to dip in and out of with a few 4-ounce offerings (though the price
may have you thinking you deserve a bottle), and the lounge is now a happening
spot to grab drinks and appetizers from the bar.
