Since 1927, central and eastern European immigrants have made Rubin’s their kitchen away from home. The full-service deli sells all the classics, from chopped liver (chicken or beef) to lean pastrami, pickled herring, countless varieties of latkes, and both potato and sweet potato kugel. Most customers stop in to stock the larder at home, but for those too hungry to wait, the staff behind the counter will make sandwiches or heat up cooked dishes to eat at the few small tables.
