Italian design meets Southern California
Situated in the heart of downtown San Diego’s thriving Gaslamp Quarter, The Keating is a sleek, sexy hotel with 35 stylish rooms housed in the historic circa-1890 Keating office building. Repurposed, renovated and reimagined by Pininfarina, the Italian design team responsible for Maserati and Ferrari, the brick-clad edifice opened its doors as The Keating in 2007. With an emphasis on stylish trends, hi-tech amenities and personalized service, the boutique hotel offers 24-hour concierge service, customized experiences and an alluring list of packages. Sporting edgy names like Crave, Lust and Envy, themed packages include an array of perks, including breakfast in bed, “play with me” romance kits, passports to area attractions and the use of a Ferrari California.
In keeping with the Italian-designed Keating’s hip, sensual and cutting-edge style, the San Diego hotel offers VIP access to its partnering nightclub, PCD Dollhouse. Opened in August 2012 by The Keating and Las Vegas’ famous Pussycat Dolls, the club is located in the hotel’s basement level, where cascading crystal curtains, disco bars, lighted dancing poles and swings suspended from the ceilings emphasize the subterranean playground’s burlesque motif. A center stage adorned with the Pussycat Dolls’ famous brand of signature props, such as rhinestone-encrusted carousel horses and sparkling bathtubs, completes the sexy scene. Meanwhile, a glittering bar provides a wide array of aperitifs and bottle service for VIPs and private soirees.
