Located on the sixth floor of the Five-Star hotel (along with Remède spa), The St. Regis San Francisco’s gym is a nice place to break a sweat. The L-shaped area has an aerobics alcove, a weight-lifting area and a variety of cardio machines. There’s no chance of getting bored at this gym — each of the treadmills, elliptical trainers and bicycle machines is equipped with a TV, so you can plug in the provided headphones and work out to Maury, CNN or whatever else gets your heart rate up. You’ll also find bottled water, chilled towels, fresh fruit and magazines at a long table near the entrance. The light-filled space has a small area for freshening up, complete with post-shower amenities like deodorant and combs. If you’re more of a Zen master, practice yoga in a separate, quiet relaxation area. All parts of the gym — including the adjoining heated pool — are accessible 24 hours a day and are shared with the residents of the St. Regis.
