Fairmont San Jose was one of the first luxury hotels to open its doors in Silicon Valley back in 1987. To this day, the hotel is one of San Jose’s crown jewels and a favorite of dot-com titans and dignitaries alike; every president (with the exception of George W. Bush) has been a guest.
The 20-story hotel balances its classic elegance flawlessly alongside modern conveniences and innovations. One recent, buzz-worthy addition: The hotel opened a beehive with the aim of serving drinks — such as Fairmont San Jose’s seasonal holiday tea — and other menu items infused with its very own honey. An herb garden, located near the fourth-floor outdoor pool, supplies the hotel’s chefs with an ample bounty of locally sourced, home-grown ingredients. Overnight guests with hybrid vehicles are able to take advantage of a 50 percent discount on parking fees. And all of the rooms in the hotel are equipped with air conditioning and heaters that are controlled by motion sensors.
Fairmont San Jose is close to a wide array of golf courses, wineries, convention centers and event locations. It is also home to the full-service Tova Day Spa, should you need to partake in a bit of pampering after a long flight or a tough workout at the hotel’s 24-hour gym.
