Bacara Resort & Spa has more than 350 gorgeous rooms for you to consider, but the best ones are what the hotel calls their Luxury Retreats. The largest is The Residence, which is the resort’s closest accommodation to the beach, so you have prime views of the Santa Barbara coastline. The 3,700-square-foot space offers two oversized balconies — one with an outdoor fireplace — two bedrooms, two baths, plus a dining area that seats six, a wet bar and television area that’s perfect for entertaining. The Sea Haven and The Penthouse both overlook the ocean too, and offer 2,000 feet of space that might be ideal if you’re travelling with family or another couple. Each of these rooms has a wrap-around terrace, a pair of bedrooms, spacious living room with floor-to-ceiling windows, a dining area that seats eight, two fireplaces and a kitchenette with Viking appliances. If you don’t need quite that much space, we’d recommend springing for one of Bacara’s Terrace or Signature suites with an ocean view. You’ll savor the scenic vista and luxuriate in 900 square feet that include an expansive patio and a roaring fireplace, which we think is a luxury any time of year.
