What are the guest rooms like at Bacara Resort & Spa?

The guest rooms at Bacara Resort & Spa, which is on a lush stretch of California coastline, offer cozy and chic retreats that overlook the ocean, garden or mountains. The 354 guest rooms divided among several villas share a color scheme of creams, browns and blues that’s designed to reflect the coastal setting. You’ll also find warm Mediterranean accents like wood beamed ceilings, Spanish tile floors, dark wood shutters and doors, and crisp blue-and-white Frette linens covering your curved iron bed frame. About half the guestrooms have gas fireplaces (alas, ours did not, but we appreciated the large white candles), while all of the suites and luxury retreats have gas or wood-burning fireplaces.  As you enter your room, you’ll see a brightly lit and spacious closet next to the door. The closet holds in-room amenities like an umbrella, robes, slippers and an electronic safe, though it’s too small for laptops unfortunately. Pale wood nightstands are topped with Italianate white ceramic lamps, and directly across from the bed, a granite-topped console features some of your mini-bar wares plus a Keurig K-Cup coffee maker if you want to brew coffee or tea in the morning. Inside the console, you’ll find the mini-bar and the DVD player that allows you to enjoy movies on the wall-mounted Sony flat-screen television.  Standard-sized rooms don’t include a sofa, though you will get a comfy padded wicker chair and side table, perfect for reading a book or enjoying a 5 o’clock glass of rosé. When you stay at Bacara Resort & Spa, you’ll feel like you’ve been swept away to a scenic Mediterranean village, yet you’re only a short drive from the heart of Santa Barbara.
