Like the entire resort on whose grounds it’s situated, The Spa at Bacara features an interior design that blends the best of the Mediterranean with laid-back California chic. The spa itself inhabits a white villa with a terra cotta tile roof, and inside the spa, you’ll find pale stuccoed walls, cherry-colored wood furniture and plenty of plants to create a homey, casual environment. The locker areas boast beige colored marble and ceramic tile floors along with granite countertops fashioned in black, cream and brown. This look is repeated in the treatment rooms themselves, though you’ll also see framed nature photographs on the wall plus faux flickering candles on consoles, both of which reflect the spirit of this coastal property. You’ll find chic touches throughout the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star spa, like wrought iron chandeliers and vases of green orchids, yet the area we most prefer is the comfy relaxation lounge. There wood-framed, cream colored chairs and ottomans surrounded a wood-burning fireplace, while over-sized potted plants help create a space that resembles your home living room: at once familiar and inviting. The Spa at Bacara understands that luxurious doesn’t necessarily mean over the top and ornate, and that when you want to be pampered, sometimes all you need a cozy spot that feels like home.
