Hamilton-Turner Inn was built in 1873 as a residence, and the exterior design was modeled after the Second French Empire architecture popular between 1865 and 1880. Some people have gone as far to say that it looks like Disney’s famous Haunted Mansion. Inside, the old yet meticulously restored Southern home comes alive, thanks to original antiques and independently decorated rooms adorned as they would have been 140 years ago — muted, rich colors and plenty of patterns. A cozy dining room and adjacent parlor provide communal spaces exactly where original owner Samuel Hamilton would have entertained his wealthy guests. Large ornate rugs cover much of the hardwood floors, and some of the original bed frames are still in use.
