The rooms at The Lodge at Sea Island Golf Club are grand and sophisticated, just like the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel’s English manor façade. Regular rooms offer up 700 square feet of space, while the suites let you spread out in 1,000 square feet. No matter which one you stay in, you’ll be treated to classic décor made up of hardwood floors, oriental rugs, exposed wood ceilings and marble countertops in the bathrooms. The space is light and airy, complete with French doors that lead out onto a grand terrace and overlook the St. Simons Sound, Atlantic Ocean or Plantation Golf Course.
Inside your room, you’ll find beds with traditional bedding and a fabric-covered headboard. On a breezy night you can turn on the ceiling fan, open your French doors and let the Georgia air roll right in. Settees in floral upholstery rest at the end of the beds, and there’s also an overstuffed loveseat and sofa in opposite corners of the room. A large wood bureau stands against the wall opposite the beds, hiding the LG TV and DVD player. On the walls, you’ll spot “country chic” décor, such as decorative plates and paintings of seagulls. The bathrooms feature heated towel racks, marble baths with deep-soaking tubs and rain head showers, as well as a spacious double vanity.
