The Lodge at Sea Island Golf Club boasts two restaurants: the Oak Room and Colt & Alison. The Oak Room is the more causal of the two (however denim is not allowed after 6 p.m.), with the look and feel of a high-class pub complete with leather ceilings and a wood-burning fireplace. It serves a Southern-style breakfast as well as upscale tavern food for lunch and dinner. Chow down on dishes here such as the Blue Crab jalapeño hushpuppies, cobb salad or the award-winning shrimp and grits. Complement your meal with one of the Oak Room's many beers on tap, a single-malt scotch or even a cigar from its temperature-controlled humidor.
You'll find more sophisticated fare at Colt & Alison, which serves dinner every night except for Tuesdays. The elegant restaurant at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel features high-back leather chairs, cozy banquettes and a wood-burning fireplace, as well as panoramic views of the 18th hole of the golf course that's just outside. Enjoy tableside specialties here such as filet mignon au poivre or bananas foster, as well as seafood dishes like the Maine lobster or seared Atlantic salmon. Of course, you'll also find Southern favorites here, such as cheese grits and fried green tomatoes.
