Weather-wise, the best time to visit Willows Lodge, or any other hotel in the Pacific Northwest for that matter, is in summer. The notoriously rainy region is bestowed with abundant sunshine and mild temperatures (daytime highs are usually in the 70s and overnight lows sink to the cozy 60s) from July to September. This is also when tourism is at a peak, so rooms may be hard to come by — activities like wineries or hiking trails may be crowded, too — unless you plan well in advance. During the mild fall time between late September and early October, the chances of rain increase and temperatures fall, but the damp chill of winter hasn’t yet arrived. And though the region has plenty of evergreen trees, you will see some fall colors. Huckleberry and blueberry bushes cover the mountainsides already alight with reds and oranges. Because it’s a shoulder season, though, activities and room bookings will be significantly less competitive.
