The guest rooms at Les Suites Orient, Bund Shanghai, have a homey and muted design emphasizing mid-century modern furnishings with a neutral color scheme. Polished parquet flooring lies underfoot throughout the room, with the walls done in a mixture of pale gray fabrics and the curtains in gray velvet. Large black-and-white prints of Shanghai’s skyline under construction are displayed on the wall, with similar framed photographs on bookshelves along with colorful vases, knick-knacks and premium reading material. Fresh flowers are provided in the bedroom and bathroom, and a fresh fruit bowl on the wooden mini-bar cabinet add a welcoming feel, while clean-lined wooden furnishings with tapered legs are decidedly retro. The four-door mini-bar cabinet opens up like a traditional liquor cabinet, while the silver radio knobs beside the bed pipes in instrumental radio music through speakers on the ceiling. Bathrooms are just as long as the bedrooms and spacious too, and include a rectangular glass-walled shower, advanced Toto washlet and standalone soaking tub with a television at the end.
