Located on the sixth floor of Bund 18 (a refurbished 1923 neoclassical building), Mr & Mrs Bund has fabulous views of Shanghai through the space’s soaring windows. Get a bird’s-eye view of the busy Huangpu River, where a slew of boats transport everything from cargo to tourists. During the day, watch the ships float down the river weighed down with heavy loads of coal (they sit so low in the water, you may worry they could go under at any minute). At night, the sightseeing boats put on a colorful display with illuminated lights that reflect across the dark water. On the other side of the river, the skyscrapers of Pudong shimmer like a forest of lights — some buildings have giant TV screens showing scenes of nature or festive themes. But our favorite sight from the French restaurant is the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower, which features a constant light show of pink that runs up and down the skyscraper’s twin globes.
