Mr & Mrs Bund serves fine French food in a relaxed, whimsical and tongue-in-cheek way, and you can expect the gifts from the chef to follow suit. When we dined at the Shanghai restaurant, we were served chef Paul Pairet’s tuna mousse, a foamy, peppery tuna spread cleverly served inside of a tuna tin along with a cup of thin bread crisps. But even before the amuse-bouche is brought to the table, you’ll receive one of the finest bread baskets offered in Shanghai. The baguettes are perfectly crusty on the outside and pillowy inside, while the long, thick slices of wheat bread toast are crunchy and elegantly charred with fresh grill marks.
