The special wines at Mr & Mrs Bund include exclusive labels from France’s most renowned regions as well as unusual pours from small areas not often seen on restaurant wine lists. The list itself is a thick book with varietals from around the world (although there is a significant focus on French wines), with representatives from just about every wine region you can imagine, even the non-traditional (Mexico, Bulgaria, Switzerland). Some of the rare and special bottles on offer include Chateau Latour, 1st Grand Cru Classé, 1982; Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, 2nd Grand Cru Classé, 1982; and Chateau Cheval Blanc, 1st Grand Cru Classé, 1988 from Saint-émilion.
Mr & Mrs Bund has a stunning feature that many fine-dining spots do not, an Enomatic wine machine (which holds court in the center of the Shanghai restaurant). The machine keeps opened bottles fresh for up to three weeks, allowing you to try small tastes of expensive, rare wines without splurging on an entire bottle.
