T8 Restaurant & Bar offers a fantastic selection of rare and special wines thanks to the passion and interest of Walter Zahner, the general manager and sommelier. The wine menu helpfully lists these wines under the categories “fine rare selection” and “favorite hard-to-find wines.” Under the rare list, the priciest bottle is the magnum of Opus One 1986 from Napa Valley which sells for RMB12,988 (US$2,058). The most affordable rare wine is the RMB2,498 (US$395) Eligo Shiraz, John Duval 2005 from Australia’s Barossa Valley. The hard-to-find selection also includes many Australian wines and even a wine from Lebanon — the Château Musar Red, 1999 from the Bekaa Valley for RMB1,998 (US$317).
