Yamazato does not have a bar in the traditional sense but does offer seating at its curvy sushi bar. Here, you can sit in low, comfortable chairs and sip a glass of warm sake or a bracing glass of shochu while your meal is prepared in front of you. Watching the sushi chefs is like having your own private show. Sushi chef Masami Ichii and his team are incredibly deft as they artfully place batches of sashimi and sushi onto plates that then get whisked out into the dining room. Ichii himself is rather stoic in demeanor, but his younger sushi chefs are lively and friendly and more than happy to make conversation as they work.
