If you’re visiting The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong Spa by ESPA as a guest of the hotel, feel free to show up for your appointment in the plush, white robe and slippers that you’ll find in your room. Outside visitors can wear whatever they like and change once they arrive at the spa — robes, slippers and sandals with traction are provided in the locker room. For massages and body scrubs, you will be provided with disposable underwear. If you’ve booked the Chinese tui na massage, you’ll change into a loose fitting top and bottom (the massage is done over your clothing) furnished by the spa. You won’t need any special attire for the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star spa’s sauna or steam room, but if you want to take a dip in the pool, be sure to bring your swimsuit.
