About Sun Valley, Idaho:
In a sun-drenched, bowl-shaped valley, this is one of the most famous resorts in the world. Developed by the Union Pacific Railroad, this area was established after an extensive survey of the West. Sheltered by surrounding ranges, it attracts both winter and summer visitors and offers nearly every imaginable recreational opportunity. Powder snow lasts until late spring, allowing long skiing seasons, and there is hunting, mountain biking, and superb fly fishing. Two Ranger District offices of the Sawtooth National Forest are located in Ketchum.
