Swan doesn’t take reservations, it doesn’t accept credit cards,
the line always spills out the door, and the servers can be
gruff. It’s all part of the semi-rowdy, old-time San Francisco
atmosphere (which is much more authentic than the versions
found at Fisherman’s Wharf). Nimble-fingered shuckers prep
oysters for locals and tourists alike. Cool off on a hot day
with cold, cracked Dungeness crab, or warm up on a foggy
night with satisfyingly creamy clam chowder—either way,
wash it all down with a frosty Anchor Steam beer. Or pick
up an ice-packed order of fresh seafood to take to your own
rowdy party.
